I am always trying to create a new, "manly" card.  Here are a couple of those creations...

Vintage Cards

I went to rummage sales this past weekend and found a new treasure! Someone was selling bags full of old photographs. Some of the photos were dated back to the 30's, all were black and white, and each had a story to tell. I thought it would be fun to give the photos a new life on a card. With a little lace and old buttons, I hope to create a whole new look to my vintage style.

Special Containers

I used a baby formula can to create this gift.  After wrapping the can in paper, I cut out the baby's name from my Cricut, added ribbons on the rims and flower embellishments to her name.  The lid was covered with paper, ribbon and a larger flower embellishment.  The can could be used to hold hair accessories or a slit could be cut into the top to create a piggy bank.

This Memory Jar was created to celebrate Mary's 50 years of service in the nursing field.  Her favorite colors are blue and yellow so those two colors became my base colors for the entire jar.  I used lots of different paper and ribbons.

I used the Everyday
Paper Dolls
cartridge on the Cricut to create nursing embellishments for the jar.  The cartridge even includes bandaids!

Some worth saving...

A New Beginning

This is the start of something new for me in my crafting world.  I love making cards!  It's not just a hobby, but an outlet for me...an escape from children, work and many chaotic moments.  The desire to start a blog came after my wonderful husband gave me a laptop.  We had a laptop and even a home computer, neither of which were super reliable, so the thought of having my own laptop for MY OWN personal use seemed a little excessive.  However, as I have had the opportunity to play around on my new computer, I have discovered a new outlet for expanding my creative passion for cardmaking.  Because I love making cards, I have made many only to send them on to others with words of encouragement and love.  Often times, I will make a few of the same layout because I really like the look.  But now as I create this blog, I have a new way to save layouts that I am especially proud of.   Could this be the start of a new monster project in my life?  Who knew when a friend of mine turned me on to cardmaking that a giddy monster schoolgirl would come alive?  Whatever may transpire, I hope that it will only continue to encourage others and that the Creator of my life will be blessed.
